december part 2

Once we got to Utah we hit the ground running.  Saturday morning was the Betty Westenskow Christmas party where Emily, Sara and I had to represent our family without my mom and dad since my mom is still in a physical therapy place from back surgery.  The girls took awhile to warm up but once they did it was crazy!  They loved talking to Grandma Betty and of course she loved meeting little Quincy.  Jenny also took her turn holding Baby Q, and we all got a little something from Grandma.  Interestingly she gave Ashlyn the exact same gift that Ellia had told Ashlyn she wanted (and Ashlyn picked out to give her).  That took a bit of explaining to Ellia!

Afterward all the grandkids went to visit my mom at her physical therapy place, which was really nice!  We were worried they'd overwhelm her but I think she was excited to have them all there together...for a little while anyway. She gave them all a book gift and we tried to get a picture.

Later we spent some time in Salt Lake after that so we could take the girls to see the Temple lights.  It was pretty cold and windy so we made sure to be there right when the lights turned on and leave before it got too bad.  We walked around City Creek for awhile which was very impressive, and I discovered the best time to see the lights is right when they turn on...it was so impressive.  We also walked by the old ZCMI front with big ornaments made with pictures made from candy, the girls could have looked at those forever, and would have loved to eat them I'm sure.

Next it was off the the Holdaway party.  The girls had more fun, giving and receiving gifts and of course playing with more cousins.

Our next party was the Collings party, and this was the day my mom was released to go home.  She was wiped out but it was perfect for her and Quincy to get some rest together.  It was really fun talking to everyone about our next adventure...the big move to Louisiana.

Christmas Eve we got up at Grandma Laura to....snow!  Jeremy took Ellia out to play while Ash and I went to get her hair done by Liz.  She was a little nervous getting it washed and was trying to death grip the wall, but she calmed down after that and got such a cute look!  Ellia came over just in time for a quick trim and updo and then we headed to the Gillespie family party.  Later that night we did Pixie gifts and the girls opened their matching foot jammies. Ashlyn is getting tired of all the pictures are starting to make silly (but cute) faces. Finally, up the canyon to Midway to sleep while Santa comes!
