November 2014 Part 1

It's been a long time since Ashlyn has drawn on something other than paper. She decided to decorate her sideboard with wet erase marker.  At least they were cute drawings.

A Sunday afternoon wagon ride.
Enjoying the cool weather with a fire and hot dog roast in the back yard.

The girls had a day off school in the middle of the week and Jeremy thought it would be a good chance to sleep on the tent!  They even slept in!

Quincy on the other hand tried to lay down in the middle of this cheap plastic tray.

I caught Ashlyn helping Quincy wash her hands - so cute!
Happy 5th birthday Ashlyn!! Dad got up early and made cookie cutter pancakes, then Ellia decorated them for Ashlyn before she had to leave on the bus.  Ashlyn was so happy to have them for breakfast and kept calling them cookies.
Then a few short hours later I brought snack to her preschool class.  She kept telling everyone she was bringing cupcakes and you could eat the acorn!

After preschool her friend took her out for ice cream.  What a sugar filled birthday!  We had her favorite dinner, meatball sandwiches, and celebrated with Little Debbie Cosmic Brownies and opening presents that night.
Ellia chose to give Ashlyn this Fur Real pet from the gifts I had purchased, and it was a huge hit.
Quincy trying to take and see pictures on Jeremy's phone.

Ellia got a little something to appease her jealousy.

Ashlyn was so grateful for all her gifts! After each one she giggled and cheered and ran (or crawled) around to show her excitement.

The following morning it was party time!
I just kept adding to her cake, and I'm sure glad I did! I really like how it turned out despite some earlier disappointments with coloring!

The sock horses ready for personalization. They desperately need some help. I used men's tube socks against Pinterest advice and these guys were looking pretty long and lean.
The spread (plus macaroni and cheese) I wish you could see the hay bales a little better, rice Krispy treats with red vines tied around them. Although it's not like I can take credit for any ideas besides the cake. Thank you again Pinterest.
Horses waiting at the watering hole...yes this was my idea too, if it's lame it probably came from me!
Everyone with their decorated, and personalized, horses!

Let the races begin!
They weren't really getting the instruction I was trying to give about a dress up relay,
so I had to demonstrate. Of course I had taken a mom up on her offer to take pictures during the party, so this is what I got.

I think they get it now.

 Rope the cow.
 Barrel races.

Time for the Pinata ...discarded Halloween candy, heck yes.

Time for some cowboy grub, pigs in a blanket, and corn on the cob.  If I would have had a Winco I could have done wagon wheel macaroni and cheese, but oh well.

Top the party off with cake and ice cream and of course presents. Jeremy outlawed any kind of pin the blank on game last year. This year he suggested we not do Heavy Heavy Hang over. I honored it for this party but I'm not making any promises.

I guess she's seen Jeremy do something like this?  On second thought that WOULD be a sight to see!
Tailgating for the LSU / Alabama game.
Quincy won't hold hands with anyone else.
The lengths people go to for these things never ceases to amaze.
Quincy is in awe.
We got to go in the Halliburton tent for dinner and snacks before the game. Quincy might have a cute face but man was she difficult, especially in such a big crowd.  She wouldn't hold hands or be carried. Little Miss Independent. I suppose I shouldn't expect any less.

She got a tiger pin in the tent and she wanted to show it off.
Our neighbors have a son on the cheerleading squad so they get a pass to go watch the band play in the PMAC before the game. We got to meet them there and watch. It was really cool.

Mike the Tiger was also very active. We even saw him climb in the water and lay down for a bit. I thought tiger's didn't like water...it wasn't hot or anything.

Since all the scalpers still wanted a lot we decided not to buy tickets and just went to watch the first quarter back in the tent.  See those huge TV's??
My three little ladies watching a show before bed.
Opening Grandma Betty's birthday present. A cute Dr. set.
Ashlyn had a wart frozen off her foot and when I checked on her she had this whole set up going on for herself. I think she's milking it.
