In this family, we play with our food!
Jeremy had a week long training in San Ramone, just outside San Fransisco, so the girls and I drove up to spend the weekend there with him. The first night we staying in his work hotel and took the train to an Oakland Athletics baseball game.
Ashlyn loved it.
Our hotel in San Fransisco was called Galleria Park right in Union Square so we spent the day wandering around China Town and the made it all the way down to Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf...AFTER taking the long walk up to Coit Tower! The girls loved all the little shops with sparkly jewelry and little trinkets.
We stopped at a little park to rest from the walking and have a little snack, it was SO cute and fun.
Thanks for teaching them the tongue thing Jer.
A women gave both girls flowers, and Ellia had a really hard time parting with hers when the time came. (they were plastic flowers and the woman wanted us to give her money afterward, but wouldn't take the flowers back)
A little lunch in Saucilito.
Here's a flower for you.
This ferry back to San Fransisco proved to be the most difficult part of the trip. Its pickup was right behind the park, but the map was a bit misleading so we rode about 20 minutes in the other direction before asking directions. When we got in line we missed one of the ferry's by about 20 minutes and had to wait for the next. Jeremy went to get us some more water, and the next ferry pulled up while he was gone! I thought they would have to unload so it would take some time, but then I hear the worker yell..."no unloading folks, everyone on!" I started calling and calling Jer, but nothing. The worker said, just go past them if they aren't loading people - keep moving!" There was another lady right behind me whose husband was also MIA so we were panicking and dialing like crazy. "Move over the side and let people pass!" the lady yells. Yeah Ok lady, the two of us will move our six bikes and kid trailer whom you packed in here as tight as possible, thanks. Finally I saw Jer running back to us and luckily we made it on. Then as we were getting off we saw that the other lady had made it on too! Phew! But wait, we hop off the ferry and head back to turn in our bikes, already realizing we won't make it back to our hotel to pick up our car in the garage by the 5 pm pickup time when we also realize that our bag isn't in the trailer...oops, left on the ferry. We made some calls and by the time we walked back to the wharf they were pulling in from their last run and had our stuff. Phew again.
We didn't see as many meat shops as I remember when I came with my parents 15 some years ago, so when we saw our first we had to stop and let the girls take a peek at the chicken feet and other cuts.
Looking back toward the beginning of our ascent to Coit Tower.
Bay Bridge
Ashlyn didn't even do much walking but she was worn out by the time we reached the top. Poor Jeremy had to carry her everywhere.
At Pier 39 we got to see some sea lions, ride the top decker of the carousal, watch a shipment come in, and pick some candy to munch on from a taffy/candy shop (my favorite part so far!)
A well deserved break.
The next morning we dedided to take the bus rather than walk back to Giredelli square, then we rented bikes and a trailer to ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was SO crowded we could hardly ride and people were getting into little arguments all around us in frustration. Normally it is only one way traffic on either side, but one side of the bridge was under construction so it was a mess! Once we got about half way across we were able to ride and it was like dodge ball which was kind of a thrill to me (drove jeremy crazy) but then it was down hill thorugh the trees to Saucilito and that was the best part!
Let me eat already.
Looking back toward the city
A little lunch in Saucilito.
I ate it all gone dad.
Here's a flower for you.

Alcatraz
The next weekend it was finally time for Jer and I to use his father's day tickets to Le Mis. It was really nice to go on that date and the show was really good. The only bad part was that I forgot to fix my glasses and had to watch it all through one lense.
Reading to Ash while she makes her first attempts on the potty.
A new look for hair elastics and baretts.
Grandma Betty sent us some new panties and Ashlyn wanted them all on at the same time!
The last weekend in July we spent camping at Evan's Flat past Poso Flat with the Biglers.
The rakes, brrom and shovel Nathan brought were a great source of entertainment. just look at that perfect path!
