July 2013 part 2

After swimming in the pool and taking a rest in the hotel room, Grandma Carol and the Jorgenson's came to take us to Ridgeway Colorado to an amazing cabin for another few days vacation.

There was an awesome outdoor shower, quite the pleasant way to wake up!

The deck was amazing, complete with covered and uncovered portions, cushioned seating around a fireplace, a dinner table and chairs, a grill and stair access to the main level porch.
The kids loved the bunk room, especially because there were some lego's to play with.
Ashlyn staked her claim on this bed and HAD to fall asleep in it.  We moved her shortly after, but I gave up my spot on the bed one night so she could sleep there all night.
Awesome hike to Box Falls. The girls were really nervous at first because the heights, but they warmed up after awhile and started making me nervous with all their running and jumping.

This cavelike walkway also had them just nervous enough for it to be a fun adventure to walk through.
A relaxing bath with Quincy...just look at that awesome view!
Rise and Shine...I got up around 4:00 am to pick up Zak and possibly pace my dad for a few miles on the Hardrock 100 mile endurance run.  Zak was beat up! He did a marathon length that night!  When dad go there he was looking pretty rough too, he decided the cabin sounded much better than the remainder of the run this year!

Some of his awesome pacers. The weather felt so good, especially coming from Louisiana. I could hardly believe it was July.
Trying to tame all the cousins at once for a picture.

Love how Ash and Lia are both looking at Quincy.
NOT helping Lia.

Ice cream treats in downtown Telluride.  Note to self, there aren't many good things left at my favorite bakery by afternoon.

Oh boy...the gondola.  It was quite the experience trying to get everyone on and the stroller too.  Mom was a pretty good help and we managed, but then she nearly sat down where there was no seat! The lifty had to reach in and pull it down just as she was sitting. BANG perfect timing!
More pictures of our awesome abode.

This is the view from the master bedroom. One afternoon my mom and I just layed in the bed watching the rain...SO peaceful until everyone found us.
Russel Stover outlet?  Yes please!  I nearly had a panic attack thinking how I could best spend money here!  IT WAS AWESOME and very dangerous.

Quincy working in the garden in Midway with Grandpa.
Another tooth lost.  That makes four in four states.  California, Arizona, Louisiana and Utah.
Notes we left in Louisiana for dad.
One of dad's adventures...the junkyard for a car part. He said it scared him.
He sent Ashlyn this picture to assure her he was taking care of her babies.
and Lia this picture or his Red Beans and Rice Monday Meal because she loves Red Beans and Rice Mondays.
Letting us know he was at the airport on his way!  Ashlyn liked the "chips" on the ceiling.
Making Jace's birthday cake.  This was one of the hardest I've made given the circumstances.  All those fancy cake tools really make a difference!

Pool party at Aunt Sandra's! It was so fun to see everyone, especially because Amber was in town with her kids.  I forgot how close in age Jace Ellia and Ava are...within a month I think!  And Talon is a week apart from Ashlyn!  Krista also had her new baby boy there!

Bathing Beauty

It's Wonder Grandma! She can take them all on! These little ones are all EXACTLY one year apart.  (not picture Ashlyn November 7 2009) Ella December 8 2010, Anna December 18 2011, Quincy October 30 2012 - who was due November 16.

Daddy arrives and these girls are BEAT

A hike to Bridal Veil Falls with Mall.

So lucky that a few of our friends from Bakersfield happened to be visiting Utah at the same time as us! We had a blast with the Dibble's, going on the Alpine Coaster with the kids and later the Alpine Slide while our kids were with grandparents!

The next morning we were off for our camping trip in Flaming Gorge. Now I have never been there, but I think camping in Utah mountains and I think bring clothes to stay warm.  I packed totally wrong.  It was quite hot up there!

Fortunately we picked a spot near the water...unfortunately Ellia and Ashlyn couldn't wait to get swimsuits on!

Fun cake Mall made for Gage's birthday.
Helping roll out scones.

Birthday time!

A good night's rest.
Cooling off. I tagged along with Gunner and Addie to jump off a little cliff.  I chose a small one (think 5 feet or less) thinking I could keep my head above water because I didn't want matted camping hair...that was dumb. I went completely under. Refreshing though.

Love how they were ALMOST cuddling.

Some wildlife on our ride that night.
A little pond fishing.

That looks about right.

Trying the slack line.

Our spot for the evening activities.

A little jambalaya on the camping trip.  Mallary was a lifesaver for all the things we forgot.
The cars were a huge hit with the kids!
and the reason for it all, floating the river. (and fishing it)

Make yourself comfortable Ashlyn.
 Backyard baseball!

She'll eat anything.

Good job Grandma Carol!

Happy 24th!  Hiking Stewart Falls to start of the festivities.

Ashlyn wasn't feeling too festive. This reminds me of another picture....

There's a smile.

I feel ya Quincy.

Feet hurting.

Trying on some cowgirl gear at Gunnies for the rodeo.

Ready to go!

It ended up being a nice night to go and we had so much fun! Every few minutes Ashlyn would remind us, "I want to ride a horse."

Time again to tame that mane!

What a great look to start Kindergarten!
Can you tell by her posing that she agreed?
Lindon water park.  So refreshing and fun for the kids. Low stress for us too since it's geared toward kids.

Quincy just can't take all the fun!
and neither could these girls for that matter!  Love that their cuddling.
Daddy's turn to take them in the mountains for the day.

They got to take some Barbie's and Jer said they played with them for quite awhile.

I'm assuming he took this picture to show the preserved ripple marks.  It only took ten years of marriage to figure that out!

Of course Jeremy had to get his dipped cone at Timp Freeze too...where else can you get a toasted coconut dipped ice cream cone?  YUM!
Quincy and Indy.
Jer said his goodbye's and I headed to the Derby with a scalped ticket, man he is really wearing off on me!
I can't believe how much I love a good derby.  I've lived in Louisiana for several months and the most hick thing I've done is right back in good ol' Heber City Utah!
Bird watching for Brag Tags...can't believe we got them all together and all looking!

Grandma would read them stories in her bed every night and I'm not sure how many they even made it through.
She's loving this grass.

Party at the park for fair days, free hot dogs and bounce houses.
Will LOVES Quincy, but he informed Ellia that Abby is his girlfriend.
Another dipped cone? Giddyup!

Seven Peaks waterpark.  We made it an evening thing to try to avoid some crowds.  The kids had a blast but only tried a few things. Sara and I wanted a bit more thrill, but I didn't realize for her that meant trying to sneak on one of the rides after it was closed...sheesh.

Storytime at the library.  After swimming lessons we went straight to the library and the girls had a blast climbing on the big machines, digging for candy in the saw dust and checking out books.

 And July is over!
