Happy Valentines! We had a park play date to go to so we got a little gussy'd us today and actually did hair! I planned a hand print heart craft but the hand paint I got turned out to be worthless. Oh well, it was still fun to talk with some of the women from church again.
That night Jeremy brought home cupcakes from Cupcake concept, and I brought home Beignets. We also made Valentine Cupcakes with the kit my mom sent. Then they enjoyed opening the Valentines frim Grandma Laura. She sent little lip shaped lip gloss cases that said, "Muah" when you opened them. Ashlyn insisted that it said, "GraMA."
Sleeping in her own crib...she escaped the swaddle.
Beautiful lips Ash.
I finally got to set up the bedding I had Sara Driscoll make for Quincy and I LOVE IT! I can't wait to get in a house so I can paint the walls a soft tourquoise color.
Everything coordinates so well with the quilt my mom made.
There are still some pretty cold days so we get to use all Quincy's cute winter outfits. This one is from Teri Worthen.
What a sad face, but I love her long skinny legs in this picture.
Big enough to sit up in the bumbo!
One of those stay at home play in jammies all day days.
When we made our valentines Ellia wrote her name and the names of the recipients on them. Well Ashlyn wanted to do the same so she made some little squiggles and I circled it on one to explain to my mom. After that she started circling her squiggles.
The pool and hot tub always look so appealing when I go workout that I finally took the girls out one morning. They stayed in the hot tub and I got some sun, since I had a bit of a Vitamin D deficiency.
An outfit from Grandma Betty. What a doll!
A friend from church introduced us to a Children's Museum about 30 minutes away. It is SO cute and well kept! We had a blast playing there and stayed for a long long time.
The cow can really be "milked" only its just water.
Ashlyn is getting better at holding Quincy too.
She just gets bored of it quickly.
Jeremy is leaving much earlier for work and has opted for breakfast on the go in the form of Special K drinks. Well he accidently picked up cappechino flavored ones and didn't like them. Ashlyn got a hold of them though and couldn't get enough. I didn't want them to go to waste and I'm sure the protein is good for her, it was just weird having her smell like that.
Quincy is starting Baton Twirling early.
I have been out looking at SO many houses and things just aren't exciting me. (there was a bit of a fixer upper at a decent price that we made an offer on but was then taken off the market...bummer) There is always something way off about every house or location or price etc. Well, we looked at one house that was close to a paved biking, running trail, and decided we really wanted to be close to that. When there weren't many listings popping up near there I decided to take matters into my own hands and drive around the area looking for homes for sale by owner, and guess what I found?
Not super exciting from the front view, but the back yard IS the trace trail, getting excited....
It also has a community park, pool and pond. P to the 3. Perfect!
Now if only the interior works and the price is right...
We may have a winner.
Bath time!
Today on the way out of the workout room Ashlyn tripped and fell pretty hard on the cement. When she got up she said, "the kitty is safe mom." I was surprised she wasn't hurt and all she cared about was the kitty, in the bag, in her hand. I had to take a picture of the toys she protected so lovingly. Then a minute later she said, "My owie hurts real bad mom," and started to whimper. When I looked at her wrist she had a huge road rash! What a tough little girl.
I thought of another area Ellia is big enough to help in. Cutting coupons! She was excited to start but got a little daunted when she realized how many there were. She came in to the bedroom while I was getting ready and asked, "Mom, do I have to do them all?" I told her she could quit whenever she wanted. She said, "well I'll do some more." Then I overheard her telling Ashlyn, "I can't come and play yet I have to finish my job. I have so much to do, this is hard work" etc etc.
This weekend we went to Gonzales to the Cabelas. Then we stopped at a restaurant in the middle of nowhere called "The Cabin." Some of our first authentic food (although it wasn't the best), but the restaurant was in an old slave cabin that was really interesting. This is my first Gumbo. I had to keep asking the waitress what all the stuff on the menu was, like Andouille (sausage). Then she was describing a platter to me and said, "it comes with potato salad, do you know what that is?" How rude :)
The torment from the big sisters is just starting my love.
She is getting stronger all the time! Four months old now.A few times this month Jer took the girls so I could get some rest. He found some pretty fun places.
One time he even ran across our neighbor who said, "Your wife NEEDS a break." Sheesh I hope I don't look that down trodden. Just becasue every time we load or unload the car one of the girls is crying.
Boardwalk at Bougue Falaya Park.
Ashlyn dubbed these trees "Ghost trees" I think she is right on.
The Otis house at Fairview Park.
Jeremy had the opportunity to visit the New Orleans Sports Arena by volounteering for a Chevron service night. He helped large groups of kids find their seats and got to wander around and watch the Hornets.
The next day I went to the temple and Jeremy took all three kids to see an LSU baseball game!
