September 2012

Still having fun in the pool this fall.

Dad poses as Tangled.

A new crib for us.  $50 at a yard sale...yippee!
Taking dad to see the ostriches in Tehachapi.  These are the babies at about a month old and they are already huge!
Saw some wildlife on the way.

Ellia's first day of TK. Transistional Kindergarten was offered to kids born from November second to December 1st since the deadline was moved.  In years past they would have been able to attend Kindergarten.  We chose to keep Ellia out of Kindergarten this year and since there was room in TK she was allowed to attend in the last spot available! We were so fortunate!

New Tangled backpack.
Lining up to go into Room 10 with Miss Kimbriel. (Ashlyn learned how to say her name before Jeremy did.)
She actually started two weeks late because we weren't aware that she would qualify and then Stephanie said I should just try to call, so I did and she got in!
On grandparents day we invited Sister Ricks (Ellia last preschool teacher) to be our stand in Grandma...she was so excited since she wasn;t able to go with her own grandkids.

Calm zoo. Ashlyn with her friends.
Feeding the goats...Ashlyn is getting braver.
Helping Opal go into the tunnel. Ashlyn really wanted to go in but not alone...and they were all scared but together they were brave.
Ok so I know Ashlyn is a big girl, but this picture makes it worse because she is sitting on a higher spot on the rock.  Maggie is small, and the other two are younger!

Ashlyn really wanted to take care of Opal like a bit sister.

I took Ellia with me to the project Linus service project at the church and she was such a big help.  I'm so glad I had the opportunity to serve with her and hope there are more chances for us.  She even won a raffle prize! A bag that she carries everywhere.

We went to Ming Lake two days in a row. One to swim a bit and one to fish a bit.

They loved playing with all the tackle stuff, but Jeremy wasn't as thrilled about it.

Lia got to reel in a tiny fish.

We also spent the day at Sunday Peak.  I finally got comfortable and sat in the same spot for several hours while Jeremy and the girls took a walk and played in the area.

One day when I picked up Ellia from school she was crying and her tooth was bleeding.  Miss Kimbriel said she had just barely bumped her mouth.  Well later when she let us feel her tooth, it was super loose!

Another craigslist find - I'm hoping to refinish it, we'll see

Picture day for Ellia.

Ashlyn at the Kern County fair with Austin and Maggie.

Getting ready for Halloween with sugar cookies.
 Dressing up the horse.

August 2012

Ash taking good care of pretend Buggy wherever she goes.

Cynthia Little watched the girls one day this summer and they came home with Strawberry Shortcake, which they immediately dressed alike and played with the rest of the day.

A tour of the local news station.  This time dad came instead of Ash and that night Ellia had fun watching the same people on the news that she saw at the station.

 Slip n slide.

A new car for us!  2005 Honda Pilot.
A trip to Gergen ranch with just the girls. It was a very relaxing trip. The water was just right and kids had a lot of fun - even though mine still wouldn't voluntarily go down the slide.  I did take Ash once though.
What happens when you play with Ash in the mud.

Love dress up time!

JC Penny was offering free kids haircuts before school started so I took Lia and decided to have Ash get her first ever trim too.  They both did so good!

One day toward the end of August Jer took the girls ALL DAY for some mountain fun.  Luckily Ash got to start off with a nap in the car.

The 'dirt snake' the girls discovered and almost walked right into.
Lia's birthday keeps going on and on..this time a package from Grandma Betty.
I turn my head for one minute and thr girls have got something hiding somwhere...this was the second tub of frosting they opened and started eating - since they didn't really like the chocolate.
Ellia wasn't enjoying her preschool class because of naps and we realized an age difference so I decided to see about getting her into the transitional kindergarten. I knew she was out of the date range but when I called they had one spot left and she got in!!  Jer was in Houston while all this was going on but we hardly questioned the decision and soon after went to pick out a back pack.  She wanted to wear it at all times. (The school deadline is changing each year here so those who miss it are offered a transitional kindergarten. If at the end of the year the teachers feel they are ready for first grade they can advance).
